This is one of the treasured eastern wildflowers. It tolerates shade quite well, but not deep woodland shade. It's often found in rocky ground, growing through cracks between stones and on outcrops. Wild columbine appreciates rich soil, and a well-drained location. This is one species many hybrids have as an ancestor. |
